This week I have a maths trail around the house and an end of year assessment for each class.
I would approach the assessment as more of a ‘look back’ activity rather than giving your child a set amount of time to do a test. This should not be a stressful event, things have been hard enough for you and your child(ren)! They may not be able for each part of the assessment, and that is fine. Tell your child they can leave something they’re not sure about and come back to it at the end if they can. This is just to get an idea of where your child is at. Spread the assessment out over the week, and mix it with the Maths Trail (maybe on Wednesday for a break) and some online games if a device is available!
If possible, please send me a little email about how your child gets on with the assessment pages. This is not compulsory of course, just to give me an idea for September! I understand a lot of people are busy with their own work, other children etc. so there is no pressure at all to do this! J
