We had some yummy hot chocolate today to warm us up! We also had a visit from Christina who taught us all about Christmas in Sweden! Thank you so much for coming in to our classroom! 😊

First Day of School!

We had so much fun today! The new Junior Infants settled in really well, and the Senior Infants set such a brilliant example for the younger children :) Well done everyone!

Butterflies and Reading

 We have been watching the life cycle of a butterfly over the last few weeks in the Junior Classroom! Watch the video see how the caterpillars turned into chrysalis and then butterflies! We said goodbye to them this week and released them back into the wild...

We have some amazing writers in this classroom! The children wanted to write stories about Tayto Park in their free writing copies when they found out about our school tour. Some people asked to read their stories out to them class:

Wednesday Morning Stations

 

Sound

We have been learning about sound over the past two weeks. Today during STEAM Stations, the children got to explore our school instruments and make their own ones from our Creation Station materials! They made drums, guitars, shakers, and more! 

 

Time

The children did a great job learning about time over the last two weeks! In the video you can see them making o'clock times on playdough boards, cutting and pasting clock faces and playing some games online to work on time skills. They also worked in groups to make clock faces using items in the classroom, and did brilliantly with this challenge!
