Handwriting: y (do a smile, back
down and a monkey tail. Children need to recognise they don’t lift their
pencil, the smile is between the lines and the tail makes it a monkey
letter). Seniors also do capital. Can be practiced in small handwriting book
sent home. Only do one letter a day for handwriting.

Handwriting-yY in cursive. Go
through formation and allow them to practice in their small book. Find a
storybook and go on a ‘y hunt’. Write the words with y in them in your best
joint handwriting.
