Brain Breaks

In our classroom we do a lot of brain breaks. These are active breaks from concentrating on written work. There is lots of research showing that breaks like these increase academic achievement, help with concentration, improve behaviour and student attitudes.

Brain breaks increase oxygen and energy flow to the brain, which reduces stress levels and helps children to re-focus.

We love to do dancing in our classroom as a brain break, and some stretching too! We use the website GoNoodle and also some YouTube videos. Sometimes we have quick disco to get all the crazy sillies out and to help us to get ready to learn!
