Magic Milk Experiment

Today we saw how chemicals can react with each other!

We got a plate each and Bernie poured milk onto it. Then Ms. Keane (with Elizabeth's help) poured some drops of food colouring onto the plates. We had red, blue, yellow, and green!

Then we got a cotton bud and dipped it into some fairy liquid. When we put this cotton bud onto the plate something cool happened...
The fats and protein in the milk reacted with the soap on the cotton bud.
That made the milk move all over the plate!

The colours swirled and mixed together. It looked really cool.

Ladybirds

We had lots of fun with this poem today in school! We picked out the rhyming words, and then we wrote the poem again with some new words to make silly rhymes. Here are some of our silly poems:

Ladybugs all dressed in red,
Strolling through the flower shed.
If I were tiny, just like you,
I'd creep through the flowers zoo!

Ladybugs all dressed in red,
Strolling through the flower ned.
If I were tiny, just like you,
I'd creep through the flowers, BOO!

It was a really funny way to look at word endings and practice our rhyming!

We also made some lovely ladybirds last week out of clay. We made the ladybird shape in the clay, then we used our pencils to draw a face and wings. Then we poked lots of holes for the ladybird's dots! They look lovely now that they are all painted!
